Cole on the grow!

Cole is growing up! He's one month today, but I'll do a follow up post with all his stats later. Here are some new pictures from this month.

Another bear shot! We have the bear outfit in brown and blue :)

Cole also has not one, but two cow licks on top of his head!
This is the brown blanket he LOVES, guess he got tuckered out during tummy time.
Baby face.

Cole continues

This is my favorite age; I just love new borns! He is so cuddly and sweet that I don't even mind seeing him every couple of hours in the middle of night. He had his first trip to Daddy's work this week and his first Bible study. Jackson has been spending a lot of time holding him and rubbing his head, and Tyler likes to sing to him and tell him stories. The weather has been great too-we went out to get our daily dose of vitamin D this morning at the Forum and then again this evening on a walk at Bogan Park. Here are some more pictures of Cole growing.

Cole Russell Bare

Cole joined our family at 12:02 pm on Monday February 16. He weighed in at 8 lbs and 8 oz, 20" long. We went in on Sunday afternoon after for an induction; when we got there my contractions were 1-2 minutes long and 4 minutes apart. We continued like that from 3:30 pm until about 7 am on Monday. At 11 pm we started cervidil, sometime in the night I had a shot of Morphine with phenergan to lighten the contractions. At 7 am I got my epidural, after some discussion with the twit nurse.

I started to feel a lot of pressure around 11 am, but the nurse said we weren't quite ready to push, but she called my OB to come to the hospital. By 11:45 I wasn't sure I could wait any longer for the doctor and my epidural had completely run out. The nurse said my doctor would be there any minute and that it was too late to run a second epidural. Dr. Anderson arrived and I pushed, uncomfortably, for ten minutes and voila Cole arrived. He had already had his meconium stool, prebirth, so the pediatric team had to suck his lungs out before I could have him. They got him all cleaned out and handed him to Andy while I was being cleaned up, then I got my turn with my newest boy. He was grunting on and off so the baby nurse decided he needed to go to transitional care. We had a bad experience with Jackson and transitional care so we had a supervisor come down to speak with us and work out the details of him going to the transitional nursery. The doctors agreed that we could go into transitional care to see him and that we would be consulted before and tests were run or any formula was given. About 14 hours later he was returned to us in our hospital room, 3 am on Tuesday. It was a wonderful moment to have the nurse wake me up and give me my baby.
Cole has done wonderfully since we all came home Wednesday night, he eats well and sleeps well, for a new born, and we are all really enjoying him.

Jackson Turns 4

For Jackson's fourth birthday I made him a four layer cake with two funfetti layers and two vanilla layers, as well as lots of Chocolate frosting and sprinkles. Sadly Jackson was in an odd mood.

We started out well, lighting candles on the giant cake and then we started singing happy birthday...
Next thing we know Jackson is running out of the room...we thought he was fooling around so we kept on singing.
Poor guy wasn't fooling around. When we finished I found him in my parents room crying hysterically in the dark no less.
We had to promise not to sing again-ever. I think that feeling may pass, but we'll see.
And fully recovered he was able to blow out his candles, make a wish and eat his entire piece of cake.
Happy fourth birthday Jackson we love you and your idiosyncrasies!

Jesus' Birthday!

Merrry Christmas! Here are some of our pictures as well as the Birthday cake we made for Jesus.
